Chamber Music Tulsa offers exceptional educational opportunities during its Saturday evening Salon concerts and Sunday afternoon concerts.
At the Saturday Salon concert the audience mingles with longtime and new chamber music friends over champagne punch before the concert and during a light buffet afterwards. The musicians perform in a relaxed setting, just as though they were in the intimacy of someone’s home. Not only is the audience delighted with the performance, they can become acquainted with each of the artists to learn more about the compositions or the artist themselves.
The Sunday afternoon concerts are preceded with a free
pre-concert lecture by a local music scholar. This lecture not only benefits our regular patrons, but enhances the coursework of an important partner of Chamber Music Tulsa, the Barthelmes Conservatory. Barthelmes students attend our Sunday concerts as part of their conservatory curriculum, exposing them to world-class performers of the music they study. Many of these conservatory students come from diverse backgrounds and underserved public schools in Tulsa and are on full scholarship. Up to 150 students and their families enhance our Sunday afternoon concert audience on a regular basis.
