Join Chamber Music Tulsa for An Evening in Vienna, featuring guest artists the Vienna Piano Trio. The Trio will present an hour-long concert of music by Viennese composers, including Schubert, Kreisler, and Schoenberg’s hyper-romantic “Verklärte Nacht”. Immediately following, join the artists for a Viennese style dessert and champagne reception, with pastries from Ludger’s Bavarian Cakery! The concert will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Williams Theatre of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and all inclusive tickets for the concert and reception are $30 in advance or $35 at the door.

As part of The Elias String Quartet’s ‘Beethoven Project’, the quartet is sharing valuable insights into Beethoven’s string quartets from a player’s perspective. They will begin with an overview of the different ways in which Beethoven changed and revolutionized the musical language, particularly with regards to expressing emotions. Then they will explore various excerpts from the quartets and how Beethoven conveys an extreme range of emotions in his music, showing how resourceful Beethoven is in constantly creating an endless variety of subtle emotions. Join us at 7:00 p.m. for wine and conversation.

“Bohemian” Rhapsody by American String Quartet

Passion, jealousy, betrayal and murder, birdsong, folk dances, trains, and homesickness… hear all this and more in music with “Bohemian” connections, performed by the American String Quartet. Chamber Music Tulsa gives the city this free, family-friendly concert at the award-winning Guthrie Green in celebration of our 60th Season. The American String Quartet will play Haydn, Janáček, and Dvořák’s “American” Quartet. The performance is free and open to the public.
